Father of Floyd Mayweather, Mayweather senior, has revealed that his son and Conor McGregor could remarkably have a rematch following their fight in 2016.
Those wondering if the rematch would happen might be a bit shocked to hear that one of the fighter’s father’s has revealed that talks are happening between the two at the moment.
Speaking to Helen Yee Sports, Floyd Mayweather revealed:
“They are talking like him and Conor McGregory are going to fight. That’s what it sounds like. I don’t know for sure but I’m just saying the way things are sounding to me. Sounds like he (my son) wants to fight again.”
He added:
“He’ll (McGregor) fight again and show people what he can do, which is nothing. I’m going to make sure this time he is stretched out. All the way out of the game. I’m going to make sure he don’t come back no more.”
He went on to mention:
“I’m just saying I think they are going to fight the same way (boxing rules). I think that Conor McGregor want to get that win back that he had, which is never coming back to him anyway.”
Mayweather reaffirmed that the fight is definitely being talked about at present:
“It’s being talked about and it sounds like there is a lot of interest in it right now.”
The fight would obviously have to take place in 2019, if it does at all, as McGregor has a scheduled UFC match upcoming this year that takes place in Las Vegas.
