WBC heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury a week on from his trip to Northern Ireland has had time to take stock of the trip.
While Wilder watched his rival Tyson Fury win out in a ten round unanimous points win over Francesco Pianeta he also it could be argued, increased his profile with Irish and UK fight fans significantly.
From his first confrontation with Fury’s father John at the Thursday press conference, to his infamous chicken battle at Nandos with Billy Joe Saunders, Wilder made a splash and on the whole, was very well received.
His value in a potential Anthony Joshua fight went up, it could also be debated.
It most certainly will if he defeats Tyson Fury in an expected bout this December.
Although as of the time of this article, no official announcement has happened just yet.
Speaking a week on from his trip to Belfast Wilder has sent this message to his fans and video to his Twitter account:
Dear Belfast,
Ireland was amazing and the people of Belfast was amazing as well. Thank you for your love and hospitality, you guys are fucking awesome.
We did a lot of crazy things, made peace with the fans and blessed a couple of families to come see my next fight as well. pic.twitter.com/paSmVboF8d
