The passion and adoration still out there for boxer Manny Pacquiao among the world fight community was there for all to see tonight following his latest win.
It wasn’t just a win, really, it was a performance that showed that Pacquiao is not done yet after a lack luster display last year when he surrendered his WBO welterweight title to Jeff Horn.
Pacquiao showed himself to still be a top-level fighter.
Whether or not he could mix it with the likes of new pound for pound stars Terence Crawford, Vasyl Lomachenko or Errol Spence is doubtful but even still, at his age, what he did tonight was truly superb.
Boxing fans and indeed leading figures in the boxing world have been singing his praises following what they saw tonight:
Old formula still works for Pacquiao. Put a puncher in front of him and he’ll look good. good match-making is a requirement for the rest of his career.

I will always be a fan of Manny Pacquiao, the Boxer; but never of Manny the politician.
Separate the yolk from the albumin.

Let us celebrate Pacquiao’s 60th win, like the legend that he is. He put the country on the map, accept it or not. As for politics, let’s talk about that tomorrow.

Pacquiao fought an excellent fight. Imposed his will from opening bell and never let up. Appreciate the greatness of what he’s given us over the years. Once he’s gone, even the haters will miss him. Such beautiful timing & accuracy tonight. Absolute clinic #PacquiaoMatthysse

Manny Pacquiao stops Lucas Matthysse in the seventh round. That’s Pacquiao’s first knockout win since 2009. At 39, he gets his 60th win.
