The plaudits have been coming in left, right and centre for George Groves since beating Eubank. This could be the highest praise sung yet.
Barry McGuigan’s son Shane McGuigan was Groves’ trainer on Saturday night.
He came in for some jibes from team Eubank before the fight and even labelled him as a ‘P.E. teacher’.
Shane McGuigan said that it would “come back to bite them in the a***” on fight night.
He was proved to be right.
Straight after the fight his father and Hall of Fame boxer Barry McGuigan could not hide his delight for Groves – and said:
What a man @StGeorgeGroves is, boxed magnificently throughout, showed unbelievable courage to fight almost 2 minutes with a dislocated shoulder. Least we forget that in winning the Title on the 4th attempt, he fought the last 4 rounds with a broken jaw before winning by TKO ?? https://t.co/LfNpVCLzXu

During the fight Groves suffered a dislocated shoulder in the final round.
His first scan is today of which he should know the results of later.
His promoter Kalle Sauerland said however that they are going to take advice from at least two to three medical experts on the injury.
