Deontay Wilder has got the fight that he wanted last year which fell out due to reasons out of his control and has left a cheeky tweet for his challenger following the bout getting confirmed.
Ortiz was pulled out of last year’s fight following a failed doping test but has since been cleared to return to the sport and take on Wilder on March 3rd in New York.
Wilder had a frustrating 2017 but is looking at 2018 as his year to finally shine on the big stage and beat the top fighters in the division.
Ortiz would be a in most people’s opinion definitely a top 10 heavyweight in the world. If not closer to top 5.
So a win here for Wilder would set up him up nicely for a huge Anthony Joshua showdown later in 2018.
The American has had the following reaction to the fight getting made and message for his challenger:
I don’t want no excuses this time…. #WilderOrtiz #BombZquad https://t.co/pjoCwG0quc

A subtle dig and he’ll certainly be hoping Ortiz will not be pulled out of the fight this time again.
The bout is not a foregone conclusion by any stretch of the imagination however for Wilder mind you.
Ortiz is one of the slickest operators in the division (when he’s on form) and will come into the fight absolutely believing he has the skills to upset the apple cart here.
