UFC President Dana White speaks on Pacquiao vs McGregor boxing reports surrounding the two possibly meeting in the ring in 2018.
A Pacquiao vs McGregor boxing match has been reported in numerous places in recent times with Pacquiao himself even sending McGregor a social media message telling the UFC fighter to keep fit for 2018.
McGregor last fought in an unsuccessful boxing match to Floyd Mayweather in August of this year – where the Irishman was stopped inside the distance on his pro boxing debut.
Pacquiao last boxed earlier this year when he dropped a decision to Jeff Horn of Australia that saw him also surrender his WBO welterweight world title to the Australian.
Pacquiao now spends a lot of time in his political career, so it is not entirely clear what he is looking to do in boxing in 2018.
However UFC President Dana White addressed these reports after a UFC event last night saying:

White himself recently confirmed that he will be venturing into the sport of boxing as a promoter in 2018 and that at present he is speaking to a number of players in the boxing business.
It is understood that White’s boxing venture will be part of the overall group WME-IMG who recently purchased the UFC for over $4 billion from the previous owners.
He certainly has the backing – time will tell what kind of fights he’s able to put on.
