Cuban boxing sensation Guillermo Rigondeaux disgusted with treatment he says he has received from the WBA.
Fight night is quickly approaching for the man known as “El Chacal” but forces outside the ring are playing on his mind ahead of one of the biggest fights of his career.
On December 9th he’ll move up two weight divisions to fight the sublime Vasyl Lomachenko for the WBO super-featherweight world title.
The thing is though, he could lose one of his belts because of the decision to move up.
He holds the WBA (Super) strap at his usual weight class of 122lbs, but it has been reported now that if Lomachenko does in fact lose to Lomachenko, he will also lose his WBA title – even though the fight is not taking place at super-bantamweight (122lbs).
“Rigo” has taken to Twitter to express his feelings on the decision:
“Very very disappointed of this decision made by the
@WBABoxing . I wonder if they would act the same way if my name was@Canelo ,@FloydMayweather ,@anthonyfjoshua or even@GGGBoxing …. I bet NOT!”
He added:
“If was ok for Brook to fight GGG and then return and defend his title vs Spence Jr. Why isn’t the same case with me? Oh I know…. Maybe I have to include
@realDonaldTrump on this thread since he#boxing so much.@WBABoxing”
The fight with Lomachenko on December 9th will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York.
