Amir Khan Pays Tribute To Father Following Turbulent Year

Boxer Amir Khan pays a tribute to his father after a hectic year that involved a very public falling out between his parents and wife.

Amir Khan will be commentating this weekend for UK broadcaster BoxNation on the Golovkin vs Canelo fight and will come as a welcome break for the Bolton fighter after a turbulent year gone by.

Since May of 2016, Amir Khan has still not fought since suffering a devastating knockout defeat at the hands of Canelo Alvarez at the T-Mobile Arena.

Following that, things went from bad to worst.

A public leaking of a sex tape, his wife falling out with his parents, business deals gone south and more recently a public spat online between him and heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua – where Khan initially alleged that his wife had some sort of relationship with.

This was quickly retracted however and Khan now appears to be in a better place.

Speaking on his Instagram account Khan paid tribute to his father this week, during what has been a difficult time for the boxer:

“My father is my teacher. But most importantly he is a great dad.”

He included this photo (hat tip):

It is unclear if Khan will box before the end of 2017 but it is understood that when he does come back it will not be at middleweight where he last fought against Canelo Alvarez.
