Golovkin Obliterating Myth He Wasn’t In Shape For Canelo

Gennady Golovkin obliterating rumors that he was not in good condition at the start of his fight camp for Canleo.

The eve of big fights usually brings about last minute stories around the likes of sparring or disputes about gloves, but things have been fairly polite and cordial in the whole Golovkin vs Canelo build up.

A certain Conor McGregor did say a few weeks back before his fight with Mayweather that he thought Golovkin came into camp for Canelo out of shape mind you.

Indeed, others online echoed that they thought Golovkin looked soft around the mid section in training footage in the middle of his camp.

But as WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders pointed out recently – you never want to over cook or over train at the top level in boxing.

You never want to peak to soon.

Golovkin and his trainer Abel Sanchez are experienced enough to know that and judging by today’s post from Golovkin with just a little over a week out from fight night, condition won’t be a problem:

The bout will be contested at 160lbs for the middleweight championship with both fighters well on track to make weight by all accounts.

It will be interesting to see who is the bigger man on the night.

Many believe that Canelo although he hasn’t campaigned at the weight for long, will actually out weigh and out size Golovkin by the time of the first bell.
