There has been some last minute concerns surrounding how Chavez made the weight for the Canelo fight after this.
Chavez is renowned for struggling to make the weight over the years in his professional boxing career.
But ahead of arguably the biggest fight of his career some are suggesting he may not have made the weight in a healthy fashion.
It’s not that surprising of course, as there’s usually a lot made about Chavez’ weight online anytime he fights. The main thing is he made the fight weight.
Canelo Alvarez loves to go the body in his fights and the Mexican no doubt will be chomping at the bit to see what many commented as a weak looking Chavez on the scales.
Having said that, again, he did make the weight, as did Canelo, but the latter Mexican pugilist looked much healthier it must be noted.
It’s all about how much Chavez rests, refuels and re-hydrates today ahead of getting in the ring tonight.
If he were to refuel fully he might come in even as heavy as 190lbs – which is gigantic for a catchweight fight at 164.5lbs.
Here’s how folks reacted to seeing Chavez Jr on the scales ahead of his fight with Canelo:

Most of the weigh-in talk has been about Chavez Jr, of course, but it should also be said that Canelo looks an absolute unit at the weight.

Pretty sure Chavez Jr has put on a stone just by having a drink after the weigh in
