Joshua Coach Pulls Face Of Astonishment During Klitschko Fight

Anthony Joshua coach Rob McCracken pulls a face of total disbelief at one point as his charge battled Klitschko at Wembley Stadium.

Anthony Joshua coach Rob McCracken is a man who is hard to impress and a tough task master by all accounts. Always keeping his fighters’ feet firmly on the ground, pushing them and caring for his boxers.

While the likes of Freddie Roach and Abel Sanchez get a lot of credit (and rightly so) for their stellar work as boxing trainers over the last few years in the media, perhaps McCracken’s achievements have gone under the radar a bit.

He has turned GB amateur boxing into a global power house from an amateur level and has also coached Carl Froch and Anthony Joshua to success in two of the most high pressure, highest capacity attended global boxing events, of the modern era.

Wembley stadium has been a happy hunting ground for McCracken with Carl Froch scoring a KO over George Groves under his guidance there three years ago, and now this weekend Anthony Joshua has stopped Wladimir Klitschko there.

A hilarious photo by one fan on Twitter has been getting quite the reaction today as McCracken looks on in amazement here:

Quality stuff. No doubt some jokes from Joshua will be coming McCracken’s way next time they are in the gym.

Before the fight, Joshua was quoted in the media as saying he sometimes feels like hitting his coach Rob McCracken out of frustration in the gym.

Well, that frustration certainly paid off last night for the pair – in a big way.
