Andre Ward Trainer Says Kovalev Rematch Will Happen

Andre Ward trainer Virgil Hunter elaborates on why he believes the rematch between in his charge and Sergey Kovalev will happen next up.

Earlier this week on social media Kovalev himself confirmed here that he has signed the contract for the rematch and is now just waiting on Ward and his promoter RocNation.

The first fight between the two led to a highly contentious debate as pertaining to the decision. One which was ultimately awarded to Ward via unanimous decision in their light-heavyweight title battle.

Ward picked himself up off the canvas after been dropped by Kovalev during the fight and the decision afterwards sparked massive debate among the boxing community. To put it lightly.

Speaking to Town Bizznizz JS  – Andre Ward trainer Virgil Hunter said:

“I think he would have been wise to look at his contract and go over it thoroughly before he put his signature on it. There is a date and an arena picked out. The fight is going to happen.”

Good news it would appear for fight fans looking to see the rematch.

No date or arena has been confirmed in public ye. But it is being widely speculated by insiders that the match will take place this summer most likely in Las Vegas.

Indeed, that’s where the first fight was – at the T-Mobile Arena in Vegas. Lets hope both teams can come to an agreement soon on this.
