Heavyweight boxer Dereck Chisora throws table and loses the plot at the final pre-fight press conference before his world title eliminator against the UK’s Dillian Whyte on December 10th.

Boxing press conferences seem to be getting more nutty by the month. But today’s mayhem in the UK could very well be up there as the nuttiest of 2016.

Alleged death threats, squaring up to promoters, tables been thrown, some truly strong language (warning) and even people’s families getting involved at the end.

The WWE-type promotion theme that is not just sweeping boxing at the moment but also the UFC (premier organization for mixed martial arts) seems like it found a new level today in combat sports.

Truly extraordinary scenes before, during and after.

It isn’t clear whether or not those involved in today’s chaos will face disciplinary action from the British Boxing Board of Control just yet.

But one would imagine something could happen following this.

It appears the fight is definitely still going ahead. This latest episode of boxing promotional mayhem no doubt drummed up more interest in this weekend’s pay per view event in the UK as part of Anthony Joshua’s latest IBF heavyweight title defense undercard.

Whyte starts as a slight favorite with most bookmakers ahead of the fight.

Here is what happened the first time both men met a few weeks ago on a pre-fight filming session where even then they kicked off at one another.
