Big fights are the order of the day for the bouts available to him immediately at this point, at least, if he looks to try to make them.
So far he appears to be looking to avoid the Gervonta Davis fight as demanding it to take place at 147 pounds is not going to happen, only at pounds less than that if he is actually serious.
There’s many great fights out there for him to at least try to make, the Devin Haney rematch, Shakur Stevenson, Teofimo Lopez and more.
But the Manny Pacquiao bout is also an outstanding fight that has so many dimensions to it from a sporting context and of course a lucrative event for both athletes.
The Filipino eight-division champion had been due to take on Floyd in a rematch this year but that is not happening this year and the Liam Paro bout is also something that looks not happening for the moment.
Pacman has options and is a big name still in America, and Asia, and around the planet, so represents a big pay day for Garcia and the American might look at him as an easy touch at this late stage and advanced age of his career.
But maybe Manny Pacquiao is happy about that if he in fact is looking at a bout against him in that manner.
Pacman still has veteran experience and much ability and if he could muster up the type of shape he got himself into for the Mario Barrios fight, a bout that ended in stalemate but most thought Pacman had been victorious on the night.
The Filipino can use angles, ring craft, laser fast combinations still, to potentially get in and out of range and box Garcia and come back in full circle using lateral movement to bamboozle the American in his boxing style.
Styles make fights and southpaw Pacquiao has that stance and small height and centre of gravity than can come underneath and cause problems for Garcia if Garcia is not anything near his best.
Ryan Garcia has proven to have decline in recent years and nothing can really be learned from that Conor Benn fight other than he still has punch in both hands and has some hand speed and some solid defense against very limited opposition in the form of Benn it must be said.
Making the fight is possible and can be done on a number of platforms and through different time zones and countries if needed.
Something to consider, one last title shot for Pacman also.
The old lion vs the younger lion story is there too in such a contest.
