Why Roy Jones wanting to comeback for Tommy Fury fight is nonsense and dangerous for Jones

Roy Jones Jr is considering a comeback to fight Tommy Fury. At 57 years old, this is a dangerous and nonsensical move for the boxing legend.

Jones has been not fighting for years other than that bout against Mike Tyson some years ago.

To come back again and get in there against someone half his age is crazy stuff.

Some notes on this;

  • Jones, 57, wants $10M+ to fight Tommy Fury
  • He’s decades past prime and suffered late-career KOs
  • Fury is a 27-year-old legitimate pro with size advantage
  • Jones’s reflexes are gone; he’d be a sitting duck
  • This is purely a money grab, not a legacy move
  • Serious injury risk spikes when 57 fights a prime opponent
  • Fury beat Paul and KSI—he can punch a little too
  • Boxing community calls it a dangerous circus act
  • Unlike exhibitions, this is a real fight with real danger

Roy Jones is going to get hurt if this goes through, this is even more dangerous than a fifty three year old Hasim Rahman coming back soon.

Jones had many heavy knockout losses a long time ago in his professional career also again years ago.

To Antonio Tarver, Glen Johnson, Denis Lebedev in Russia, then Enzo Maccarinelli in Russia again back in 2015 at the age of 46.

He is 57 at this point, he is asking for trouble in this.
