Shakur Stevenson is defensively definitely the best defensive boxer in all of boxing today but that does not often sell tickets or do numbers online.
Sure, he is great at talking. Great at talking against opponents online on social media but recently a lot of this came crashing against him in the Devin Haney fight falling apart.
Clearly proving again Stevenson is often talk in terms of making the fights as he has been through many promoters and streaming companies at this point already.
But as a boxer he can fight and had a solid most impressive victory over a faded Teofimo Lopez recently in his latest outing in the ring.
But Lopez had looked a shell and had been there to be hit really if you go back over that fight at this point.
Stevenson at some points sure opened up a little bit more and chucked in some combinations at times but that had been against a very poor Teofimo Lopez.
Lopez is typically an aggressive boxer and had been there to hit so it made sense for him to be a little less boring than usual.
He has plenty of speed and if he opted to he could use it to put more combinations and fast ones too together just like Floyd did back in the day in his career.
Floyd used many combinations back in the day in his career if you go back over the early stages of his career.
Stevenson not so much. He almost boxes afraid in there at times and takes little chances but it is effective to this point against people that are not that big punchers.
Those yet to go to his body also or yet to test that chin.
Stevenson has cardio and hand speed and can use combinations and sling bigger more robust shots in there but everything is often to scarce from him in those departments.
He can change that and be less boring and also, of course, take the big fights against the big names in the sport.
