As a defensive boxer he is difficult to hit, has a tight high guard, counters often from defensive positions and more.
He is not a great yet though, here are legends ahead of him as all time great defensive boxers in the sport;
- Floyd Mayweather – untouchable across five weight classes, the modern gold standard
- Pernell Whitaker – so elusive he frustrated Chavez and won four titles with pure wizardry

Stevenson is undefeated currently but is not near the top of the greatest in the defensive best boxers ever yet.
