Errol Spence gave his comments on retiring from the sport of boxing a short time ago in live boxing tonight.
He was beaten by UD on points by Australian Tim Tszyu in their 160 pounds catchweight contest tonight in Australia.
The Texas former world champion Spence said moments ago on retiring after:
“It was a good fight. Congratulations to Tim and his team. Shout out to everybody who came out — it’s been a great event. Everybody treated me well. No Limit Promotions treated my family and me really well too. I appreciate everybody for coming out. It was a solid showing by Tim. I answered a lot of questions for myself tonight. Now it’s time to go home with my family and start a new chapter in life. Yeah, for sure. I’ve got my faculties intact. My money is good and working for itself. Everything is in a good place. I’ve got a beautiful family, and I thank God that I’m fortunate enough to leave this sport with my health and my family still by my side. Everything’s going to be okay from here on out. I appreciate everybody for coming out and showing me major love. I appreciate Tim and his team — they’ve been great. No Limit has been great too. Thank you all. It’s been a great journey for me, but now it’s time to focus on my family and live that family life.”
Spence had an entertaining and solid career in the sport of boxing when all is said and done.
Errol Spence Jr might do a number of things next in life, who knows.
Tonight was all about Tim Tszyu, well done on the big one and well done to both boxers on an entertaining fight.
Spence was clearly over the hill and the fact late on he changed the fight from 158 to 160 pounds showed he was struggling coming in.
