Shakur Stevenson got mistaken for famous NBA player on a broadcast

Shakur Stevenson might be one of the biggest known name boxers in America right now but a terrible blunder happened in live boxing.

At the big Conor McGregor MMA event at the weekend Shakur Stevenson was in attendance cage side for it.

They panned the camera to him at one point and mixed Stevenson up with popular NBA player Jalen Williams on the Paramount Plus online broadcast.

They look nothing alike.

That was not a good thing for the event obviously but it just shows you how far boxing has come and how well the sport is doing now.

Given that once again boxers are being brought cage side to attend as guests Conor McGregor mixed martial arts events and are being mixed up with huge NBA stars.

A sign of boxing’s return to popularity in America’s sporting landscape, clearly.

The mix up has gotten some attention but as for Stevenson he is still in talks for his next boxing bout.

All signs at the moment are pointing to him figting Devin Haney, his fellow US rival, next.

But nothing is confirmed just yet.

The fight has been offered to Shakur Stevenson at a catchweight of 144 pounds but talks are still ongoing.

A short time ago on the X platform, formerly Twitter, Shakur Stevenson also went on a bit of a rant.

Saying that he is ‘cooking dudes’ bigger than him his whole life, meaning he has been fighting and beating boxers bigger than him forever.

So he says.

He said he is not scared to fight bigger competitors.

So he claims.

Expect news soon on Shakur Stevenson and Devin Haney.
