Things continue to take a strange turn for the American and three weight-division world champion as Benavidez finds himself in some trouble.
Benavidez had been flying high in boxing and in life recently.
The Arizona boxer became a three-weight world champion by stepping up to the cruiserweight limit to defeat Gilberto Ramirez by knockout.
One of his career best performances it must be said.
But trouble hit recently when his fiance and partner apparently called off their wedding.
And Benavidez has been leaving emotional posts on social media platforms saying he has marital problems and has been blaming himself apparently.
Now however, Benavidez’ sister has said that one of Benavidez’ social media accounts, his Instagram account, has been hacked by his ex partner.
And that it is not him always posting and that it is that of his partner, or possibly ex partner now, Karina Silva.
Clearly not is all it seems with him as is often the case with some famous athletes and celebrities on their Instagram accounts.
Where a lot of what they post is of course is not true and is just marketing or hype for one reason or another.
On a boxing note, it is unfortunate that David Benavidez is going through such a storm at the moment.
Unfortunately the timing off this could not have been worse for him as boxing is now coming back to the masses at the moment.
As there had been big fights in boxing there for him now but he does not look in a mentally clear mindset to get back into training at the moment.
To take on the likes of a Dmitry Bivol or a Jai Opetaia or someone on that caliber in professional boxing.
