There looks to be news at long last finally on the Vergil Ortiz vs Jaron Ennis fight that could possibly happen now.
The fight for a while was in talks.
All sorts of problems arose and different things in court went back and forth but you see that in big fight talks sometimes.
However boxers and everyone seem to agree that faded now in decline promoter Oscar De La Hoya was the main reason the fight did not happen.
He promotes Vergil Ortiz, one of the biggest pound for pound punchers in all of boxing.
Now, Ortiz’ manager now is claiming that there is a quick route to finally make the fight with Jaron Ennis at long last.
That means it looks like the De La Hoya issue and problem is finally out of the way. He can step aside personally.
Ennis has since moved up to 154 pounds at super welterweight however and had a solid start there.
Knocking out former undefeated champion Xander Zayas only very recently at the weight.
For an all American clash between Jaron Ennis and Vergil Ortiz to happen would be outstanding if they can make the fight.
Ennis has lots of speed and Ortiz has huge punching power.
The clash of styles as well in the more boxer type in Ennis against the big hitting slugger type in Ortiz could be a great watch for spectators.
Ortiz is more than just a slugger who can hit of course with solid defense and that might frustrate Ennis as well if they fight.
You would expect the fight to happen up and around 154 pounds though if it were to happen.
That is where Jaron Ennis is fighting now.
