Heavyweight American boxer De’Andre Savage has landed a significant opportunity for himself in boxing in the heavyweight division.
The heavyweight from Las Vegas in Nevada USA has lost only once out of his 12 professional fights so far in boxing.
He returns now however in a trip to Australia to take on the big hitting Teremoana Teremoana on August 12th.
That is what is being planned.
It is being looked at as a fight on the Gold Coast.
Some other boxers Michael Zerafa will also fight on the co feature with Jasmine Parr and Jack Bowen also on the card.
Teremoana Teremoana is unbeaten from Australia and is 11-0-11KO and the 28 year old from Australia is proving a force in heavyweight boxing in recent times.
De’Andre Savage is willing to travel all the way to him in Australia which deserves to be commended for that at least.
This shows that American heavyweights are willing to travel and while the heavyweight division is not at its strongest worldwide, there is a lot of fighters there in the US behind the scenes.
Coming through in terms of prospects and contenders, all new, waiting in the wings.
That is the case with American boxers in all weight divisions in fact.
The heavyweight division might be fragmented now internationally but there is a lot up for grabs as more in more streamed fights in the time ahead.
The old heavyweight guard of American boxing is on its way out at the moment with the likes of faded American boxing star Deontay Wilder.
He might in fact fight Usyk next however.
There are many American boxers of note at the moment and there will be more coming through soon as well.
Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia, Shakur Stevenson, Rolly Romero, Jaron Ennis and many more to name just a few.
There are many more not known yet coming through behind the scenes.
Rest assured.
American boxing is in the healthiest place it has been in for many years and will only get much stronger in the time ahead.
Just remember it.
