How would Shakur Stevenson have done with Terence Crawford

There has been a bit of talk lately with the names Terence Crawford and Shakur Stevenson, but how would a fight have gone?

Retired former pound for pound boxing number one from America Terence Crawford brought up Shakur Stevenson recently and it got us thinking.

Crawford retired last year after going out of the sport on top after defeating Canelo on points by UD up at super-middleweight.

Since then Shakur Stevenson had a career break-out performance that saw him become one of the top pound for pound best boxers in the world.

Some are still calling for the fight but important to remember it will not happen as Crawford is retired now.

Stevenson is still in talks with a few opponents at the moment.

Stevenson is the more defensive boxer of the two but both are counter punchers that wait for their opponents to commit at times.

Stevenson is maybe the boxer who prefers to box on the outside from range however and keep things on the outside.

Whereas Crawford can box at any range and can tie an opponent up on the inside and then leave him guessing after spinning off with shots.

Or box him at middle or long range as well behind the jab and go to the body and head.

Crawford possibly went to the body a bit better though than Stevenson.

He really knew how to break an opponent down bit by bit but had his off nights himself here and there.

Both have an excellent jab but maybe Crawford the stronger jab out of the two. A real weapon at times.

US boxer Shakur Stevenson had the edge in speed of hand but Crawford’s footwork might be on par with foot speed and foot work.

Crawford surely would have an advantage in the punching power department as well as the natural strength department.

Both can be important and if the fight did happen you would have thought around 140 pounds would have been the most fair place for it to happen.

Crawford has a much better resume at this point as well and has boxed far more pound for pound names in his time in boxing.

Stevenson beat Teofimo Lopez but that was the first really big win he had.

Crawford fought the likes of Canelo, Kell Brook, Amir Khan, Shawn Porter, Errol Spence, Jeff Horn and more.

All in all, Crawford was the better boxer and the naturally bigger man but that defense would have been a challenge for him.

And the speed to deal with.

But brains, heart and timing and ability beat speed and Crawford was quick himself in and around super-lightweight.

Crawford by unanimous decision for us.
