Devin Haney finds himself in situation many champions face with no longer relevant boxing belt companies

Devin Haney is a world champion and a solid one at that and he has proven himself recently but now must make a decision.

Haney is still in talks for his next fight.

No one knows exactly who it will be yet but recently Haney became a world champion in another weight again all the way up at welterweight.

Caputring a title over former champion Brian Norman Jr in impressive style.

Norman Jr has since returned to winning ways only very recently which made that win look even more impressive for Haney.

Haney essentially is a very solid all rounder with good power, jab, speed, stamina and solid defense.

Not the biggest hitter but is punching a bit harder up at 147 pounds now. Not having to make weight anymore is suiting him.

However he is now being asked by one of the old world title companies to fight Keyshawn Davis next or be forced to vacate and give up the belt.

More and more world champions all the time are telling these now defunct world title belt sanctioning bodies where to go on this and are not paying their sanctioning fees.

Haney can do this as well of course.

And fight someone else.

Or, what he could do as well is toss the belt, get rid of it and still fight Keyshawn Davis anyway.

And make more money without having to pay any sanctioning fees for a belt that no one cares about — in a fight however that people do actually care about seeing.

As the fight is a solid scrap and would see Keyshawn Davis a young world champion himself but with much less fights (15-0-10KO) having to step up a weight in what would surely see him have much more hand speed than Haney in a possible fight.

That would be a difficult challenge for Devin Haney to contend with and an intestesting one.

Of course the big one for Devin Haney is the Ryan Garcia rematch which would net him ten times the money of a Keyshawn Davis fight.

Who knows what fight Haney will see himself in next.
