O’Shaquie Foster dismisses some of his rival Ray Ford’s achievements in boxing ahead of their fight. Is he right?
They fight for the world title this weekend and is a great little scrap in the smaller weight classes in America.
Foster and Ford might be evenly matched to some but Ford appears in monster condition for this fight and is really up for the fight according to some.
On Foster’s comments above, some things to look at for a minute:
- Foster holds title at 130 pounds
- Ford held title at 126 pounds
- Ford moved up to 130 after loss
- Foster has 3 title defenses
- Ford won title vs Kholmatov in 2024
- Foster beat Hernandez, Nova, Conceicao
- Ford lost last bout by decision
- Foster has more depth at 130
- Ford resume thinner above 126
- Dismissal based on weight class jump
You could say maybe Foster has a better resume in some ways in boxing but resumes are not everything.
They often go out the window and especially in world title fights as well.
Shakur Stevenson’s cousin is actually training Ray Forde coming into the fight this weekend on Saturday May 30th in Houston for a world super featherweight title.
