Marco Antonio Barrera says Manny Pacquiao best fighter of all time, that’s some claim, learn more about why that is not the case.
Pacman is a legend in boxing and the only eight-division world champion ever.
But to call him the greatest fighter ever is misguided. Some things to point out:
- Sugar Ray Robinson tops most all-time pound-for-pound lists.
- Henry Armstrong won titles in three divisions at once.
- Willie Pep and Roberto Duran showed greater longevity and skill.
- Muhammad Ali dominated heavyweights and had huge impact.
- Fighters like Harry Greb and Ezzard Charles faced tougher eras.
- Pacquiao had losses and style weaknesses later in his career.
He has done the impossible on occasion, some how, to come back later in his career and compete with the likes of Mario Barrios at welterweight in his draw and so on.
Who knows how he did that.
But to call him the greatest ever is a wild claim.
He is still in talks to fight Mayweather in a rematch in September but who knows what fights he will be in this year.
Recently Ryan Garcia said he would knock out Manny Pacquiao.
