Iron Chin Cracks: Fabio Wardley Finally Dropped, Stopped by Dubois Pressure

fabio wardley finally

Fabio Wardley finally put down and stopped in a first for him in what proved to be relentless from Daniel Dubois in their fight.

The fight for a heavyweight title delivered action and Dubois got the deserved win who was more accurate on the night with his punches.

He not only handed Wardley his first loss as a pro but also bare in mind:

  • Wardley had never been knocked down before
  • Wardley’s chin described as “piece of granite” before the fight
  • Wardley brushed off every dig early
  • Dubois never scored official knockdown but had Wardley hurt
  • Wardley wobbled but refused to give up
  • By round 8 Wardley’s right eye was swollen shut
  • Wardley’s nose was split open and face disfigured
  • Wardley was unsteady leaving corner for round 10
  • Referee stopped it with Wardley still standing but done
  • Foster stepped in aware another knockout was beyond Wardley’s reach

That is what happened and Wardley can come back possibly again after a solid fight there from him as well.

But it was all about Daniel Dubois.

Credit to Daniel Dubois for not taking an easy fight either in his comeback bout following his Usyk knockout defeat last year.

Who knows what fights both will have to contend with next but it was an excellent bit of entertainment for the entire sport of boxing this weekend.
