He has got in great shape but he hasn’t really a proper boxing trainer even.
Tyson Fury is a skilled boxer with an above average ticker (heart) but comes into his comeback fight this weekend with some things on his mind.
Namely his two losses to Usyk.
His only two of his pro career — he’s expected to win this weekend in a stadium fight in the UK but it will be on his mind.
Some things to note on 37-year-old Fury for those that don’t know him new to the sport:
- Tyson Fury is 37 years old (born August 12, 1988) and nicknamed the “Gypsy King” due to his Irish Traveller heritage.
- He stands 6’9″ tall with an 85-inch reach, one of the biggest heavyweights ever.Professional record: 34-2-1 with 24 knockouts.
- Only losses came in 2024 to Oleksandr Usyk (split decision then unanimous decision).
- Unified the heavyweight titles in 2015 by beating Wladimir Klitschko in a major upset.
- Beat Deontay Wilder twice by knockout and once by draw in their trilogy.
- Retired briefly after the second Usyk fight in late 2024, then announced a comeback in early 2026.
- Returns on April 11, 2026 against Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
- Has openly battled severe depression, addiction, and extreme weight fluctuations.
- Known for elite boxing skills, movement, and ring IQ despite his size.
- Currently ranked in the top 6-10 heavyweights, but many question if he’s past his prime.
- Plans a busy 2026, targeting big names like Anthony Joshua and another title shot before possibly retiring for good.
Now, with all that in mind, let us look at a few things.
He comes into this weekend trained by a boxer and not a proper trainer, his friend Joseph Parker.
That is a key concern for Fury as this will be the first time Joseph Parker has ever trained a high level pro fighter.
Being a training partner and trainer are totally different.
Has Fury being partying before the fight like he claimed with Parker as well?
Arslanbek Makhmudov is an opponent Fury is expected to defeat but this is heavyweight boxing at the end of the day.
Here is the Tyson Fury fight time this weekend for those watching.
Conor Benn also on the undercard against Regis Prograis as well.
