He is also credited with being one of the most successful boxers in terms of earnings from the sport as well.
Various reports online now are going over Mayweather allegedly bringing litigation against a former old network in the sport and individual in the sport.
Now long both gone — Showtime and Stephen Espinoza.
Here’s what we actually know on the facts from what we can see from everything that TMZ, Boxing Scene and others are claiming at the moment:

- The defendants are Showtime Networks Inc. and Stephen Espinoza, former president of Showtime Sports.
- The suit goes over most appropriation of funds stemming from Mr. Mayweather’s boxing career.
- It suggests that despite events like Mayweather vs McGregor and Mayweather vs Pacquiao earning huge revenues, that Mayweather was not compensated fully.
- Causes of action include aiding and abetting breach of fiduciary duty, civil conspiracy to commit fraud, conversion, and unjust enrichment.
- Mayweather seeks recovery of the alleged $340 million in misappropriated funds, plus additional damages including punitive damages.
- The complaint states Mayweather’s career generated over $1 billion in total earnings, with the $340 million figure representing the portion claimed as missing and unaccounted for.
- After Mayweather changed management teams, requests for Showtime’s financial records were allegedly met with claims that the books were lost (e.g., “lost in a flood”) or otherwise unavailable.
This not good for Showtime, Espinoza and other individuals in the United States.
Some of whom are already gone from boxing and others will be soon and are doing way less in boxing than ever before.
Boxing will of course be successful this year and Mr. Mayweather as always will be part of that and into the future.
Both Mr. Floyd Mayweather and Mr. Manny Pacquiao transcended the entire sport of boxing to the masses in their time.
They took great personal health and security risks in the ring in professional, regulated unarmed combat at the highest level in the entire sport.
Of professional boxing. Acknowledged as the most dangerous sometimes sport there is on Earth.
As a result, they were integral in keeping the sport alive when it became a niche sport largely some years ago.
Times have changed now. Boxing is back now. More popular than ever.
As the sport returns to the masses neither of those boxers will be forgotten.
Consequently, they deserve all the help in boxing and away from the sport from powerful people and governments that they will receive in due course.
