People forget that Switzerland over the years has been home to many professional sports organizations and bodies in recent times.
Many will remember that some of the big Olympics offices over the years have been in Zurich and places in the country.
Obviously the country regularly comes in for some very heavy criticism and heat from all the other countries around the world because of the way Switzerland is set up as a society and a country.
Largely because when the EU came along (the European union) if tried to make laws in European countries more like the same across the EU, and, only had minor success in that.
It couldn’t change any real laws really or Constitutions when all is said and done in any countries.
Switzerland however exists outside of all that and regularly is probed from large financial and banking organizations worldwide into the dealings that sometimes happen in Switzerland specifically, as the country is insulated more than any country in Europe other than the Vatican.
However, there is a big upside for all that for boxing and the country.
Let’s Make Swiss Boxing Great Again
With the Olympics having their offices there, there isn’t a shortage of amateur sport people on the ground there and actually it is a good sports country when events are done well there.
As boxing is set to be hugely popular again soon and already is really, the BBC in the UK are starting back in boxing shortly even with big events starting on Boxxer, there’s no reason why big fights can’t happen in Switzerland.
There is many things going for it as a country to host quality indoor boxing events and can bring more of a gathering of amateur boxing and amateur boxing events there as well, due to the way the Olympics is set up.
This will surely be only a good thing for amateur boxing and boxing at the Olympics moving forward.
It makes perfect sense for the sport of amateur boxing and the country of Switzerland.
