The Joshua vs Paul Boxing Safety Concerns

The Joshua Vs Paul Boxing Safety Concerns

Ahead of the big fight on Netflix there are some immediate pressing Joshua vs Paul boxing safety concerns from those in boxing.

Very understandable of course.

The likes of former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye called for the fight not to happen due to the safety concerns for Jake Paul.

UK rising star in the heavyweight division Moses Itauma has also said similar and called Jake Paul fighting Anthony Joshua suicide.

But surely in 1990 when Buster Douglas fought Mike Tyson in Tokyo as a 42/1 underdog and knocked out Tyson in the end, before the fight, many were saying similar.

Of course there was a long count in that fight too where many think to this day Tyson actually knocked Douglas out but the long count saved Douglas earlier on in their fight.

With that being said, today is a new day.

Jake Paul has come way back in now already by sports books to only a 9/1 shot or 8/1 shot to win the bout outright in the last few days.

That’s coming in from 19/1 or so originally.

Let that data sink in.

Here’s some of the concerns for Jake Paul however.

The Joshua vs Paul Boxing Safety Concerns

Joshua has 32 pro fights against elite heavyweights — Paul has only 13, mostly against smaller or retired opponents.

Joshua walks around 250+ lbs with devastating power — Paul is a natural 200–227 lb cruiserweight.

Joshua’s one-punch KO power has already ended careers and caused brain bleeds in the past.

The British Boxing Board of Control refuses to sanction it in the UK over serious safety fears.

Joshua’s own trainer Ben Davison voiced safety concerns and stepped away from the fight.

Former champions like Tony Bellew called the matchup “dangerously insane” and unsanctionable.

Ex-fighter Nick Blackwell, who suffered a life-threatening brain injury, says the fight is “so dangerous.” Many ringside doctors and fans fear Paul could be seriously hurt or hospitalized.

Jake Paul himself said he’s “willing to die in the ring,” alarming medical professionals.

The fight is only happening because it’s in Qatar with lighter regulation and heavier gloves.

Let’s see how Joshua deals with the pressure building on him all the time ahead of the fight to flatten Paul in round one.

If he doesn’t, the pressure will only increase in the fight.

Here’s what Joshua and Jake Paul are actually possibly going to earn for the fight.
