Paramount having now been confirmed to be taking the UFC up on a multi billion dollar deal to show the UFC but professional boxing will also be included.
That’s great for the sport of boxing obviously.
It is not entirely clear yet on how the budget or the air time or production time will work in terms of how much for UFC and how much for boxing.
But the deal is done and it is confirmed, Zuffa Boxing and TKO are also now in the sport and all things are confirmed that TKO and Zuffa Boxing will be big in boxing.
They have already done their first major event with Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford but soon at some point will go on a signing spree of boxers where potentially they will box them on many different networks.
What Difference Paramount Can Make In Boxing
Who knows, maybe they won’t be exclusive to Paramount, maybe some will be.
What the UFC and TKO, and Zuffa Boxing could do, is box them on a variety of platforms like DAZN, Paramount and even look into putting some on Netflix. There’s no need to do co promotions or co streamed events as that is not really the UFC’s thing.
Who knows though, there’s loads of things they can do and it will work.
The difference Paramount can make is put on better production both in venue, online at point of contact for the viewing consumer outside the auditorium/stadium and so on, as they have access to better production people than most.
They can tap into the UFC production team to bring some of their vision in boxing to life while still using HBO legends like Max Kellerman and others, whom proved a big success already since been brought back to the sport.
This is the unique offering as we see it so far, in terms of bringing the old HBO guard into a new 21st century tech-savvy platform like Paramount, to bring boxing into an even more expanded audience and viewership.
Expanding and making the consumer demographic younger and more lucrative for the sport at the same time.
Of course, this is all built on great fights and for Paramount to deliver this they will need Zuffa Boxing and TKO to have great fights between some of the best fighters in the world.
