Conor Benn stepped in there with a natural middleweight, maybe more a natural super-middleweight in Eubank Jr, and battered him.
Eubank Jr was weight drained and surely will move up to 168 pounds next up.
Not the case however for Conor Benn.
The natural welterweight after the fight said he’s likely going back to his usual weight class of 147 pounds (two weights below where he fought at middleweight of 160 pounds this weekend).
Conor Benn On What Weight Next After Defeating Eubank Jr
Conor Benn said after the fight with Ring Magazine:
“Of course it is. I mean, obviously, again, I go back to me being a 147-pound fighter. I’m not a 160-pound fighter, you know. So for me to go in there and bully around the bigger man and stay more disciplined.”
Conor Benn boxed a perfect game plan and implemented all learning and data that he learned from the first fight more than optimally.
He put more mustard on the shots as well and crucially, had an even better gas tank.
He will be a force at welterweight or even super welterweight (154 pounds).
Big things ahead.
