Why Promoters And Broadcasters Working Together More Is Taking Boxing To The Next Level

Promoters and broadcasters working with one another in the sport of boxing has been happening lately more than ever and the results are speaking for themselves.

The results are basically that the fights that fans want to genuinely see more than recent years are happening now because there is a genuine willingness from the people who represent the boxers, the managers and promoters, and the networks and streaming companies they are signed to, to make those fights.

There came a point where sure, money helps, it does, but also the streaming revolution has forced all rights holders and promoters to look at new models and ways of working with the athletes and their representatives to bring the big sports events to fans at a good price but still profitably.

Basically the fights that are the biggest usually make the most money but the compelling fights between boxers who have rivalries, story lines and are thought to be near or one of the best in their divisions, fighting one another on a regular basis, is what fans want to see.

Why Promoters and Broadcasters Working Together More Is Taking Boxing To The Next Level

The UFC did this by making the best fighters fight the best in the sport of MMA (mixed martial arts) for years and now boxing is seeing even the UFC starting to promote boxing.

So much so some of their new multi-billion dollar streaming rights deal with network giant Paramount will also be used for boxing through TKO Boxing.

The likes of DAZN and ESPN have worked together on many big fights in recent years and it has worked well, essentially fans can watch the fights on either platform when they co-promote events like that.

Fans just want to watch the best fights are good prices and if the tech glitches don’t exist and the quality is good on the new streaming platforms, where they are easy to use also, this is optimal for all concerned.

Is pay per view totally gone away? Maybe it will never be totally dead but streaming is the new thing now and will only get bigger, as the digital and online revolution continues to take off not just in professional sport or professional boxing, as digital and online advertising revenues also continue to increase year on year and take revenue from TV, newspapers and radio advertising revenue all over the world.

Promoters like Hearn and Warren in the UK have worked together well in recent years on some innovative formats like five on one stable’s boxers fighting the other’s five.

Again, the results have been great fights and they were not afraid to match prospects against one another at times either, as the undefeated 0 does not matter as much anymore.

Again, the UFC started that and now boxing is leading the way worldwide as the most tech innovative sport in the world, boxing is the bigger sport but will get much bigger in the time ahead.
