Edgar Berlanga recently fought the UK’s Hamzah Sheeraz on home soil in the US where officials were appointed by his home country in the USA.
Hamzah Sheeraz won the fight emphatically by knockout.
It was the best win by an Englishman in New York in boxing since Prince Naseem Hamed smoked the boots of Kevin Kelly some years ago.
Hall of Fame Promoter Frank Warren, promoter of Hamzah Sheeraz responded to Berlanga’s wife’s claims recently that something was untowards with the hand wraps of the UK fighter.

Speaking to BoxNation he said:
“She needs to go and speak to his team because one of his team stood in the dressing room. Secondly you’ve got someone from the Commission there also. They sign the wraps. They stay with him the whole time.”
Berlanga responded to similar claims on hand wraps himself not long ago.
Ultimately it was one of the great wins of the year by any fighter from anywhere.
Berlanga is a top notch puncher and for the UK man to do that was one of the great away wins for one of their boxers in an otherwise unsuccessful time for UK boxers.
In terms of number of world champions at the moment.
Hamzah Sheeraz is more than ready for a world title shot.
