Lennox Lewis said recently he beats peak Tyson and the Klitschkos.
He said that recently and he is very right of course.
He had too much for all of them, even on a bad night for him and on their best night, he said he still beats the three of them, both Klitschko and Mike Tyson in their primes.
Some notes on this;
- Had the best jab of his era – long, stiff, and controlled every distance
- Used height and reach perfectly; fought tall and made smaller fighters pay
- Kept Tyson at the end of his jab, denying his head movement entry
- Had the chin to survive big shots from both Klitschkos and Tyson
- Cold ring IQ – wouldn’t fold or get bullied like Tyson’s past opponents
- Fast hands and feet for a giant when at his optimal weight
- Threw curved punches better than Wlad – hooks and uppercuts from angles
- Wlad’s straight-punch style was a lesser version of his own game
- Vitali’s poor balance and low hands were food for Lewis’s jab
- Could box at range or unleash combinations – versatile enough for all three
He’d of beat Alexander Usyk of today’s times even easier also. Same vs Tyson Fury, easy.
