"Not in My League"? Why Teofimo Lopez is Dangerously Underestimating Rolly Romero

Teofimo Lopez says Rolly Romero isn’t in his league — but a recent beatdown, questionable power at 147, and Rolly’s upset over Ryan Garcia suggest otherwise.

He said that a short time ago at the final press conference ahead of the big fight in Vegas on Saturday.

Rolly is absolutely in his league, he is the champion after all and Lopez is stepping up to challenge him.

Lopez even thanked him for the opportunity to do so not long ago, it just proves again that Lopez statements can never be trusted.

Further to this, some things to factor in here;

  • Lopez literally just got outclassed by Shakur Stevenson seven months ago
  • Moving to 147 kills his power — hasn’t stopped anyone since 2022
  • Rolly already beat Ryan Garcia as a 10-1 underdog
  • Rolly showed patience and discipline for 12 rounds against Garcia
  • Teofimo can’t force fights — he’s a counterpuncher who needs opponents to lead
  • The sharp version of Teofimo hasn’t been seen in years
  • Rolly has one-punch power in both hands
  • His own father offered zero tactical help in the Shakur fight
  • Rolly is riding high; Teofimo is rebuilding from a loss
  • Underestimating Rolly is the same arrogance that lost him the Kambosos fight

Teofimo Lopez Jr literally got completely outclassed by Shakur Stevenson and for him to say that Rolly is not in his league is absurd.

That is surely something Rolly Romero can use to his advantage and to his benefit again in final preparations.

Lopez’ false laughs and false smiles cannot hide his fear underneath today’s press conference, he hid behind shades and made yet again all over the place statements.
