Undefeated former champion Richardson Hitchins vacated his title, signed with Zuffa Boxing, and is now chasing the biggest names at 147–Haney, Garcia, and Davis.
He has improved a lot recently and keeps impressing in the ring.
He is 21-0-18 KO at the moment, some notes on the US rising star on the above;
- Vacated his junior welterweight title to move up to welterweight, citing brutal weight cuts as the main reason
- Signed a multi-fight deal with Zuffa Boxing in April 2026 alongside Edgar Berlanga
- Made his welterweight debut on July 26, 2026, cruising to a wide points win at Madison Square Garden
- Endured a 13-month layoff before the fight—his last outing was a stoppage win over George Kambosos in June 2025
- Infamously withdrew from a February 2026 title defense on fight morning after making weight, citing illness
- Immediately called out Gervonta Davis, Devin Haney, and Ryan Garcia after his Zuffa debut
- Publicly insisted he’s better than Haney from a “talent perspective” and believes a fight between them will happen
- Became a free agent after the Kambosos win by announcing his departure from Matchroom inside the ring
- Calls welterweight “the glamour division now” with top names all available for big fights
- Suffered a hand injury during camp but plans to return in late 2026 with the biggest names in his crosshairs
He defeated the excellent champion Liam Paro of Australia in December 2024, also.
His victory against Ricardo Salas last month this year further proof of the Richardson Hitchins demand in the sport.
Richardson Hitchins has heart, ability and pedigree and is still very young, a force in boxing at the moment.
He could give someone like Shakur Stevenson plenty of trouble, and then some, an all American clash too.
