Not many people know that Richardson Hitchins had to overcome a serious injury coming into his latest win over Ricardo Salas.
That shows guts, toughness and resilience and not all high level professional boxers have that.
He never complained about the injury really before the fight either. That is impressive.
He had to overcome a major hand injury coming into the fight. The hands are the tools of the trade of boxers.
For people complaining he did not get the knockout of Ricardo Salas, that might have something to do with it.
He won a points decision and boxed well.
Some notes on overcoming the hand problems in the fight for Hitchins:

- Still won every round on all cards (100-90).
- Made a successful welterweight debut after 13 months off too —
- Abandoned the stoppage and cruised safely to a decision.
- Faced an aggressive pressure fighter while compromised.
- Showed no visible pain to fans or opponent.
- Kept perfect defensive discipline throughout.
- Overcame a prior health setback as well, don’t forget (sickness in February).
- Called out top welterweights immediately after the win.
- Stuck to the game plan without panicking or forcing exchanges.
That he boxed through the pain of the hand injury half way through when it flared up was impressive as well.
Do not sleep on Richardson Hitchins, he can go far and already has gone far already.
Who knows what the future holds for him but a slick boxer in America, no doubt.

He is not afraid of the tough fighters in boxing.
