Tyson Fury proved to be a big force back in the day in boxing in his fight against Klitschko in Germany but is a spent force it looks like these days in boxing.
He has had multiple fights in professional boxing this year and looks shot compared to the man that defeated Klitschko on points years ago at this point in Germany.
One of the greatest victories of its time for any European fighter in the history of heavy hitting boxing in professional prize fighting history.
He boxed the head off Klitschko and proved himself as the best heavy in the division of his time.
Until Usyk came along and beat him on multiple occasions. One being very close though, it could have gone either way in one fight.
Fury a potent boxer that had an atypical fight style, tough to figure out and had ability to burn in his day.
But he does not look interested in getting back to that at all this year based on his multiple fights this year against very poor opponents it must be said.
Muhammad Ali in his prime against the likes of Cleveland Williams a far more gifted boxer than Fury in his day.
More so than Usyk also of course.
But for those to compare the likes of Fury and Ali is very not on to say the least.
Ali had combinations and shot selection and intelligence and speed of foot and hand that if he had fought Fury would have left him in a bloody mess and never able to box again.
Not properly at least.
Tyson Fury would not have landed a glove on him, not a single glove in Ali’s prime. Too slow, not enough conditioning, not enough foot movement to get anything even close to Ali.
Ali could jab him and ping him from the outside or even get into an exchange on the inside and still been untouched from him.
Easily.
And then some.
A mismatch of the highest order and a very different time for the heavies in boxing.
Boxing is doing great as a sport at the moment based on the pound for pound caliber of professional boxers and them fighting one another all over the globe on a more often basis than in recent times.
Muhammad Ali would have fit right in and being above everything in today’s times, imagine Ali using social media and the likes of it.
Different class.
Above it all.
Untouchable.
