- Counter openings disappeared because Zepeda stepped back after exchanges
- Didn’t throw enough volume to match Zepeda’s pace
- Fought moving backward instead of dictating position
- Predictable head movement (ducking straight down) left him open
- Zepeda used reach and height to keep him outside his range
- Faded in the later rounds under relentless pressure
- Failed to stick to his boxing game plan — Zepeda’s rhythm threw him off
Mexico, the lightweight division and the sport itself has a new star on the rise in the form of William Zepeda of San Mateo Atenco, Mexico.
People will not underestimate the thirty-year-old anymore, obviously.
