Dana White, now a boxing promoter, for now, has revealed he has talked to former boxing star Gervonta Davis of Baltimore.
Davis last fought in early 2025 in a controversial draw with American boxer Lamont Roach.
Many thought Roach deserved to get the decision.
Speaking after Sunday night boxing on Paramount Plus, promoter Dana White said of one Gervonta Davis:
“Well, I don’t know. I love Tank Davis. So, uh I’m actually a fan and we’ve talked to them. So, um I don’t think he has any plans to fight anytime — I don’t want to speak for him or whatever — but I have talked to him and I’m a fan, so.”
Follow-up when asked if Shakur Stevenson vs Tank would be like the Leonard-Hearns era (the two best fighters):
“Well, you hope so. I mean, you hope so. We can make these fights and you can only hope that, you know, we knew tonight’s main event was going to be good, but you don’t know until it plays out, but yeah. I’m looking to make all the big fights that are out there.”
Ultimately Shakur Stevenson vs Gervonta Davis was and still is the fight to make.
But Davis has been not on the boxing radar for some time.
He definitely wanted the fight but it is not clear if Shakur Stevenson was ever really serious about boxing Gervonta Davis.
Tank has the style to cause him major problems with his speed, boxing ability and punching power.
