Tim Tszyu of Australia defeated Errol Spence a short time ago in boxing tonight in Australia in what proved a solid but ending of a fight.
It went the distance and Tszyu won by unanimous points decision tonight in boxing.
Spence had his moments early on though but his legs and snap on his punches were gone.
Moving up in weight gassed his cardio as well as the contest went on, badly, it should be added.
He was hanging on for dear life and Terence Crawford said Spence’s reflexes had gone after and that Tim Tszyu was just stronger.
Crawford also noted Spence’s body language looked bad during the fight as well.
Spence did not look interested in being there before the fight and it even showed during the contest tonight.
Crawford was right, Spence was never the same after the TKO defeat to Crawford in fact over three years ago now.
Some notes on tonight for Spence of Texas:
- We think he took the fight for the payday, not the win did Spence.
- Looked gaunt and skeletal at weigh-in; vacant eyes in locker room showed defeat.
- Weight-drained and undisciplined from over-dehydration and poor prep.
- Punches had no snap—slow, lethargic, off-balance, fundamentals gone.
- Shell of his former self—skin and eyes reflected extreme physical depletion.
- No tune-up fight after more than 3 years off against an active high level fighter — reckless call.
All in all, Errol Spence looks like he is done at this point.
Certainly at the very highest level of professional boxing at least.
That much is clear.
