Errol Spence is gearing up so he says he is this month for a war with Tim Tszyu but something seems off with him a bit.
Texan Spence has travelled to Australia and has sat down with Tszyu at this point in some of their pre fight meetings.
He said he is getting ready for war and coming for the win in his opponent’s country of Australia but he doesn’t seem that hyped up.
Where is the energy from him and genuine urgency about him? He looks too laid back to us and is just collecting a pay checque mentality turned on.
No good.
Spence has been respectful on the surface level with Tim Tszyu but you can tell there is a bit of dislike for his Australian opponent there.
He is claiming he is coming to Australia to take over amid Tszyu saying he will retire Spence.
Spence has not boxed in three years since been knocked out by Terence Crawford and this fight is way above that in weight.
That fight was a welterweight bout over three years ago at 147 pounds, July 25th is a bout at a catchweight of 158 pounds.
This is going to suit Tszyu and sure, Spence has put on some weight for the fight, but boxing is not about weights or weight lifting.
Spence would tell you that.
Let’s see how Errol Spence gets on in the time ahead before the big fight next week.
He looks dosile at the moment and a bit nonchalant, disinterested almost.
Not distracted just disinterested.
If he could not get motivated for the Terence Crawford fight, a huge fight with his fellow US boxing star three years ago, well?
What makes him think he can get motivated for this catchweight at a weight he has never competed at, nowhere near?
Tim Tszyu is the natural super-welterweight and has been competing at 154 pounds since 2016.
Spence has never fought there and this bout is even higher, up at 158 pounds on July 25th.
Spence is in deep waters now.
Let’s see if he sinks or swims.
Or gets drowned.
