It is the 4th of July weekend this weekend in America and it is the big one this year, 250 years old as a country. Boxing in the US is back as well.
It really is though. We have checked the numbers. We can confirm.
Boxing is back now.
This was always going to happen but the immediate present and immediate future this summer and this year is far more brighter.
There is so many great fights to come in boxing.
Only this weekend young rising star from the US Abdullah Mason competes again in the lightweight division against Albert Bell of the US.
Both boxers are from the State of Ohio.
But this comeback is live now for boxing as a sport and it has been coming for a while over the last year or two actually.
Canelo and Terence Crawford selling out a big stadium in Las Vegas in the US in 2025 for their big super-middleweight bout last year.
Ths year the sport has changed for the better in terms of more great fights happening than ever before in the US and worldwide.
But is still the same old boxing at its core. Just with more great fights and more online platforms showing boxing than ever now.
If you look at the efforts in matchmaking in professional boxing they are far higher than what they used to be.
And in many cases the boxers themselves deserve the credit here and not managers, promoters or networks or platforms.
The boxers now push for the big fights and are vacating the now defunct old 4 belt company belts in boxing’ old belts all the time.
Lineal heavyweight champion Usyk and lineal 115 pounds champion Jessie Rodriguez doing so only last week.
The heavyweight division is wide open again for contenders and new rising prospects to fight it out to see who is best post the Usyk era soon.
Whatever happens with Usyk next and whoever he fights and so on in his last fight.
Usyk is looking at Deontay Wilder for the last fight but let’s see what happens there.
The US is seeing a lot of great fights on different platforms now.
There are new players, promoters and companies due to come to boxing this year in 2026 not mentioned yet in the news.
From around the world.
As boxing expands in the East this actually helps boxing in the US as well.
As more fighters and fights can be matched overseas between US fighters and so on.
As well as bringing more international fighters to the US to fight on big cards in the US.
Sure, some of the old guard like PBC, Haymon, Bob Arum and Oscar De La Hoya are all in decline and finishing up in boxing.
But new companies, fighters, platforms and prospects are all coming through in the US.
Boxing is being shown more now online in the US than ever with Netflix in boxing, Amazon Prime (who are working with many promoters now), ESPN are back in boxing and more soon.
Boxing is a hot sport again in the US and that is because of the fights and fighters and boxing is unstoppable as a sport.
When the fights are good and happen regular, spectators of the sport are happy with the boxing.
That is why.
Boxing is relentless and when at its best, is still one of the best sports on Earth.
Tough to beat and Americans know it.
In the words of one (average hip hop artist at best) MC Hammer, if he were speaking on boxing — can’t touch this.
America is 250 years old tomorrow and is not perfect and much of the swamp is finally leaving the US this year in 2026 — America will prevail and have a great year this year.
So will boxing as it is now and will do so in the immediate future ahead in the US and beyond.
Happy 4th of July and enjoy the fights this weekend in boxing.
