Frank Sanchez moves into contention for big fights

Frank Sanchez of Cuba has been up and down at times but his ability and pedigree at heavyweight cannot be questioned.

Nor can his heart.

Maybe his focus and mindset could be slightly criticized at times however in his career but appears he has come full circle now.

He is being talked about for the winner of the Moses Itauma vs Filip Hrgovic fight for later in the year now.

A dangerous fight between two heavyweight prospects soon and if that is the case, if the winner fights Sanchez, it might be for a title.

If the titles get elevated that Usyk recently vacated.

The old four titles are no longer important anyway as many big champions are vacating them all the time.

The winner of Itauma vs Hrgovic fighting Frank Sanchez is just a solid fight and enteraining scrap anyway in its own rights in the heavyweight division.

Two big hitters but Sanchez might have the edge on both of them on pure technical boxing ability.

Sanchez recently had a strong win over former US prospect Richard Torrez whom he knocked out cold inside of two rounds.

A huge win for 33-year-old Sanchez who is not old by any or certainly heavyweight standards.

George Foreman winning the heavyweight title at 45 and Mann Pacquiao a little man basically drawing for a welterweight title last year at 47.

Pacquiao will be 48 later this year and is still competing at the highest level around the welterweight division — for context.

So Sanchez is very young in today’s high tech times for boxing and professional sport.

At 26-1-1-19 KO he is ready and deserves these bigger fights that he is being arranged in now.

He needs to keep switched on though and not take his eye off the ball in terms of when a fight starts.

Heavyweight Frank Sanchez has fought some solid contenders to date but is ready for the big fights now.

That Frank Sanchez knockout of Richard Torrez recently deserves it for him.
