Dmitry Bivol vs Eifert sets a shocking new boxing record after their light-heavyweight fight that was a surprise.
Look, Bivol boxed well at the weekend against a far outmatched opponent who he was a far better boxer than.
He won an easy points win by unanimous decision but after he dropped Eifert in round one, he couldn’t trouble him.
He didn’t have the power or snap on his punches and he looked more than rusty to us compared to the Bivol of old. He looked a bit weakened from his back surgery to say the least.
After the fight it turns out now that the fight set a new record for lowest punches ever landed in a professional boxing match (by Eifert) in a twelve round professional boxing match in the history of professional boxing.
Eifert landed a measly 12 punches landed out of 349 punches thrown. Shocking stuff.
Some context here for those new to the sport or for those unfamiliar with the above new record:

3 other fights with very low punches landed in professional boxing history:
- Randall Bailey landed only 45 punches in a 12-round title fight loss to Devon Alexander in 2012. Another stinking performance.
- In Canelo Alvarez vs William Scull (2025) — both fighters combined for extremely low output with Scull landing around 55 punches that night.
- The giant former heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev landed once in a fight only 61 punches across 12 rounds.
The big fight to make though for Dmitry Bivol next and the natural one as well is the trilogy with Artur Beterbiev.
Particularly with David Benavidez up at cruiserweight now.
And Bivol and Beterbiev being 1-1 at the moment.
It makes sense.
