Foster reacts to defeating Ford in Houston

Foster like we and many others thought didn’t have it all his own way against Ray Ford in there tonight in boxing.

He got the win and got the job done on points but Ford troubled him at times. Foster did well but only winning a majority points decision to defend his super-featherweight title in Houston tonight.

Speaking a short time ago after the fight champion Foster said:

“I ain’t gonna lie to you — I didn’t throw him. I’m not gonna lie, I did not throw him. I just pivoted. I was hoping the fight wasn’t going to end like that because he fell. That was my main concern”

Based on that you would have to think Foster struggles with Shakur Stevenson, whom he called out tonight after he won, in the ring.

Here were the punch stats tonight in Foster vs Ford:

Total Punches

  • Foster: 106 of 528 (20%)
  • Ford: 99 of 462 (21%)

  • Ford: 40 of 266 (15%)
