The main event in Dmitry Bivol vs Eifert boxing live results tonight is underway and the result is just in.
Dmitry Bivol looked a little nervous in the changing room but that is maybe a little understandable.
He hadn’t boxed in some time and was coming back from injury tonight after major surgery.
German Eifert the opponent tonight who had previously defeated Jean Paschal but Bivol started unreal fast.
He dropped Eifert in the very first round.
Huge left hook catching him walking in right in the first round. Bivol looked like he walked him onto it.
Massive check left hook that sent Eifert crashing to the canvas.
Eifert got up but was badly hurt after being dropped heavily.
Bivol went on to box well in rounds 2 or 3, most thought he won them handily but not too active.
Eifert some did was doing alright after getting through the round knockdown though, Bivol’s ring rust was showing a little.
Bivol picked up the work rate in round 5 a little and had a better round, although most thought he was winning the fight handily at this point.
Bivol had some success with the jab as we thought he might and doubled up on it at times but looked rusty as well with his attacks.
Bivol’s superior reach was evident and Eifert although had a compact, tight guard and defense, couldn’t deal with the reach advantage.
Eifert blocked some of Bivol’s body and head attacks though, Bivol wasn’t snappy like he used to be right the straight right hand or the left hook.
Although he dropped Eifert in round one he was very far from his best. Not the Dmitry Bivol of old, that is for certain.
There was a bit of a decline we saw in Bivol but a lot of ring rust as well at the same time.
Bivol upped the tempo a bit more in round 11 and went on the front foot.
More aggressive behind the jab and tried to cut the ring off for Eifert but again landed on gloves at times.
Both with combinations to the head and body.
In the end Bivol ran out a clear unanimous points decision winner as we thought, he had too much ability, range, cardio and reach for the guy — range in terms of his distance control.
It was a cut above Eifert.
But, while also saying that, other than dropping him in round one, he didn’t always land cleanly and there was definitely a decline in Bivol.
He got the job done though. Again, as expected.
