Is Keyshawn Davis moving up? Why it’s time

Is Keyshawn Davis moving up in weight? He is hinted at it. Why it’s time.

He had an alright win at the weekend over Albright in the rematch on UD on points and was the better boxer.

He beat him to the punch and outboxed him mostly but not impressively.

Weight has been an issue for him time and time again, failing to make weight on many occasions now.

He’s hinted that he’s done at 140 pounds now and here’s why it is time to go to welterweight now at 147 pounds:

  • Davis struggles to make one forty
  • He missed weight at lightweight and lost his WBO title
  • He had trouble making one forty for the Albright rematch
  • Moving up ends the weight cut issues
  • He says his peak is at one forty seven
  • He already weighs one forty four now
  • He is five feet nine and big for the lower divisions
  • Welterweight has bigger names and bigger paydays
  • Davis called out Devin Haney at one forty seven
  • He mentioned Conor Benn as a future welterweight opponent
  • Richardson Hitchins vacated one forty to move to welterweight last month
  • Bigger fights overall for him at welterweight
  • Missing weight is costing him at this point and can’t continue

The only thing is though fighting someone like Shakur Stevenson at welterweight would be unlikely.

Devin Haney the big fight there surely for him.

Who knows what fights he’ll be in next though.
